The secondary source should be evaluated against the same technical brief, but it should not be treated as interchangeable until samples and packaging have passed approval. Model demand by core shades, seasonal shades, and experimental shades: core colors may support planned safety stock, while slower items need smaller commitments or a stock-color strategy. Ask each supplier to state MOQ by shade, package, and customization level, because a custom bottle or printed kit can create different constraints from the gel itself. Track sample approval dates, artwork approval, component availability, production time, inspection time, and transit separately. Put change-notification, delayed-delivery, partial-shipment, and reapproval expectations into the purchase agreement rather than depending on informal messages.
